Instagram Stories are becoming increasingly popular on the platform and have overtaken the post office. Along with the increased traction, Instagram has improved and added features to make it more appealing to users.
One of the features of Instagram Stories is background color, and in this article we will discuss three methods you can use to change the background color in Instagram Stories on Android and iOS.
Open the Instagram app and follow the instructions below to change the background color on Android or iOS.
- Go to the homepage and click on your story in the top left corner of the screen.
- Here you can select a new photo or make a choice from the gallery.
- Now click on the Marker icon in the top toolbar options.
- The next tab gives you different color options for the background; select the desired color.
- After selecting the desired color, tap and hold the screen to convert it to the desired color.
- You can now write by selecting different Sharpies or go to the previous window and add stickers.
- Save the file, then click Submit to upload your story.

Open the Instagram app and follow these steps if you want to add an Instagram story with a background color that you can remove to highlight elements of the selected photo in the background.
- Go to the Home screen and tap your history in the top left corner of the screen.

- The next tab gives you different color options for the background; select the desired color.
- You can change the background color by pressing and holding on the screen.
- Now select the eraser symbol from the options at the top of the screen.
- Use the Eraser tool to change the color of the image.
- Save the file, then click Submit to upload your story.

Follow these steps to change the color of your Instagram story on your iPhone.
- Go to the Home screen and tap your history in the top left corner of the screen.
- Here you can select a new photo or make a choice from the gallery.
- Now click on the Marker icon in the top toolbar options.
- The next tab gives you different color options for the background; select the desired color.
- Press and hold to change the colour of the screen.
- Now drag and drop to the Instagram window and go to the photo gallery and select the image you want to upload.
- Then click the Share icon in the lower left corner of the screen.
- In the Tracking tab, select the Copy Photo button.
- From there, open the application selector on your phone and navigate to the Instagram application.
- The Instagram color change window will open with the image you just copied; click on it.
- Your photo will be added to the selected background color.
With these three methods, you can change the background color of your Instagram image and make it more attractive.
