Knights And Bikes Review –

One of my favorite children’s movies of all time is Stupid. Watching kids my age go on adventures to find pirate treasure was incredible! Knights and Bikes borrows heavily from a classic movie and from adventure games like The Mana Collection. In this game, children go on an adventure to find a treasure and save their home. The only problem is the curse on the island, which will be difficult to lift.

At the beginning of the game, we meet Demelza and her father on the island of Penfurzi, who are dropping on a ferry with goods for the winter. The island is a summer vacation destination, so when winter comes, they close. As the ferry docks, we discover that there is a stowaway named Nessa. When she arrives, she disembarks and accidentally ends up in Demelza’s mobile home, where they quickly become friends. On their first adventure, they visit a miniature golf course and discover that the bank is seizing their property. The good news is, someone’s hidden treasure on the island. The bad news is that it’s cursed. Armed with a Frisbee and water shoes they go on a treasure hunt.

Knights and Motorcycles is an adventure role-playing game at its core. Two girls can be controlled by two different players in cooperative mode. Or one person can control both characters and switch from one to the other. In solo mode, the second girl’s AI is actually pretty smart. For puzzles that require both, the second girl is automatically assigned to her part of the puzzle once the first girl has solved the first part. While some games make it difficult to control multiple characters, this game does it with ease. The controls are pretty good, but the biggest problem during my test was Nessa’s first gun, which was a bit of a pain in the ass. Otherwise, the navigation was fluid.

The graphics of the game integrate perfectly with the hand-drawn style of the characters and the environment. The girls’ facial expressions are reminiscent of those of young children with different personalities, Demelza being the rambunctious redhead and Nessa the calm, cool and collected one.

The sound effects department really shines in this game. As the girls run, they make up their own sound effects. For example, one of them extends his arms while walking and pretends to fly like a jet plane, and another makes the futuristic sound of a Jetson flying machine by turning his head. These little touches remind us what it was like to be a child with a big imagination.

To dive even deeper into the children: When the girls first encounter the exclusionary signs placed around the island, they worry that the signs will spoil their adventures and prevent them from telling their stories. Other little tricks like holding the button for a high five and a healing patch are perfect for this type of game.

Knights and Bikes is a fun ride on a British island in the 1980s. It will take you about eight hours. The game is very charming, and the story is simple enough, but fun enough to keep you entertained while you play. Players of all ages should find something here that appeals to them.

Final thoughts : GRAND

Foam Sword has come up with a great game involving knights and cyclists. The game really gives the impression of exploring the island through the eyes of the children. If you’ve enjoyed Goonies and Adventure RPGs, you shouldn’t miss this game.
