Acer Introduces Nitro and Aspire Notebooks Powered by New AMD Ryzen 5000 Series CPU

Acer today announced the new Nitro 5 gaming notebooks and the new Aspire 5 and 7 notebooks based on AMD Ryzen 5000 series mobile processors[i]. The new AMD Ryzen mobile processors offer fast and efficient performance for notebooks. With up to 8 cores of processing power, they combine fast, power-efficient memory with up to twice the data transfer rate of previous generation RAM, making them ideal for the new Nitro and Aspire notebooks.

Based on the NVIDIA Ampere architecture, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 30 Series notebook GPUs deliver up to 2x the power, dramatically increase performance and introduce third-generation Max-Q technologies for thin and lightweight designs. GeForce RTX 30 notebook GPUs deliver a stunning gaming experience with ray tracing in Cyberpunk 2077 and other leading games, allowing creators to create incredible content with hundreds of GPU-accelerated applications.

  • Acer Nitro 5 gaming laptops offer high performance for gamers.
  • The Aspire 5 and Aspire 7 notebooks offer a balance of price, functionality and design for high-performance computing.

The Acer Nitro 5 is a balanced notebook series for casual gamers willing to do better. These devices are carefully designed to meet the needs of any PC enthusiast, whether exploring the ever-growing catalog of game titles or editing game montages.

The Acer Aspire 5 and Aspire 7 Series are powerful and well-designed notebooks ideal for casual users who appreciate performance, screen quality, weight and battery life. The Aspire Series is designed to give users everything they need to express themselves and their passions.

Acer Nitro 5 – Enter the game

Acer’s popular Nitro 5 line of gaming notebooks gets a major upgrade with the AMD Ryzen 9 5900 HX mobile processor and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 notebook GPU – a powerful combination that’s perfect for gaming enthusiasts. This powerful CPU/GPU combination is complemented by dual slots for M.2 PCIe and/or SATA SSD (supporting up to 2TB NVMe SSD / 2TB hard drive)1, up to 32GB DDR4 3200 RAM1, and high-speed networking via Killer E2600 and Wi-Fi 61 support. For gamers looking to get the most out of their money, Nitro 5 includes all the essentials for uncompromising gaming.

Available with either 15.6 or 17.3 displays, the new Nitro 5 notebooks feature a quad-core High Definition (QHD) display with a 165Hz refresh rate or a Full High Definition (FHD) display with up to 360Hz refresh rate. With a response time of 3 ms[ii], visual images are clear with a minimum of ghosting. Acer has also maintained vibrant colors with a 300-pixel panel that covers 100% of the sRGB color space, and has made the screen more attractive by increasing the screen-to-body ratio to 80% with a narrow 7.02 mm (0.27 inch)1 bezel.

A dual-fan design, Acer CoolBoost technology, and four strategically placed exhaust vents keep the Nitro 5 cool. CoolBoost regulates fan speed and increases it when necessary to optimize overall performance. NitroSense allows users to monitor and control the system in real time, allowing them to control temperature control, fan speed and much more.

Acer Aspire 7 – Powerful performance and slim design for mobile users

The new Aspire 7 Series models feature the new AMD Ryzen 5000 Series GPUs combined with the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 16501 GPU, making them the ideal solution for demanding professionals and enthusiasts. The clean, unobtrusive design will appeal to those who prefer a sophisticated style, especially when working on the road or in a client’s office.

All this power is housed in a case that weighs just 2.15 kg. This makes it portable enough to work on the go without sacrificing performance. With up to 32GB of DDR41 memory and up to 1TB of PCIe SSD1 capacity, it’s a powerful machine that can handle any task.

It also features the latest USB-C connectivity for super-fast data transfer speeds of up to 5 Gbps. Dual-band Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) improves average network throughput by three times[iii] and reduces latency by up to 75%[iv] compared to Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac).

The slim design includes an impressive 15.6-inch slim-flange FHD display with a screen-to-body ratio of 81.61%. Acer Color Intelligence and Acer ExaColor work together to ensure high visual fidelity. Acer Color Intelligence delivers a brighter, more dynamic display with less CPU overload. It dynamically adjusts gamma and saturation in real time to optimize the color and brightness of the screen without clipping or oversaturation.

Finally, the thermal design offers several cooling modes to keep your notebook cool and quiet. A single press of the Fn+F key switches the fan speed between Silent [v], Normal or Performance.

Acer Aspire 5 – Affordable multitasking performance

The latest Aspire 5 also features the powerful new AMD Ryzen 5000 series mobile processors, AMD Radeon RX 6401 GPUs, 24GB of memory and a 1TB NVMe1 M.2 PCIe SSD and/or 2TB hard drive1. Amateur bloggers, photographers and students looking for an affordable yet powerful camera will find everything they need in the Aspire 5 to quickly and efficiently meet their multitasking needs through a variety of applications.

The slim 17.95mm case and sandblasted aluminum cover create a smooth, polished look. The slim bezel surrounds a 15.6-inch FHD IPS[vi] display that also features Acer’s BlueLightShield technology to reduce emissions of potentially harmful blue light.

Like the Aspire 7, it also offers the latest connectivity with USB-C for ultra-fast data transfer, dual-band Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax)3 and a thermal design with multiple cooling modes.
