Widget Platform
The DreamFace Widget Platform is used to define new Web 2.0 applications, which are
composed of the user profile (identity and rights), the applications screens, the widgets and their interactions,
and the data sources that populate the widgets. The DreamFace Widget Library provides pre-built widgets that can
be customized by developers. Business users can personalize their Web 2.0 applications by adding new widgets from
the DreamFace Widget Catalogue, and personalizing them with the DreamFace Interaction Editor.
This ability to create new interactions between widgets, possibly of different origins is an important
differentiation of DreamFace widgets. Widgets talk to their container but also talk between themselves. Interactions
can be pre-configured but can also be defined on-the-fly by business users with the DreamFace Interaction
Editor. DreamFace widgets are easily integrated with existing enterprise infrastructures and can seamlessly embed
Ajax, Flex, and any other Web technology that can be displayed in a browser (including other frameworks' widgets
and gadgets). DreamFace widgets or widget-based applications can run anywhere, including on the desktop, on Web
sites, on Web platforms, such as Facebook, SalesForce, or MySpace, and on mobile devices, such as iPhones and
Android phones.
Our leading-edge widget technology is complemented by a business model that permits enterprises to meet their
business goals by publishing DreamFace widgets directly on other platforms without the compromises of alternative
widget platforms, such as deploying the widgets to a hub or sharing revenue. DreamFace widgets are entirely
skin-able making them easy to brand for deployment on other platforms.
Social Networking Framework
DreamFace 2.0 takes enterprise application development into the future by providing a fully
widget-based Social Networking Framework within the DreamFace Platform. The DreamFace Social Networking Framework
takes the best features from the most popular consumer social networks, extends them and makes them available in
your application. The result is completely flexible to put as much or as few social networking features in your
application. You can include all the pre-built social networking widgets, and extend the features by creating
your own widgets and linking them in with the state-of-the-art DreamFace Interaction Editor.
Each DreamFace user has a user profile that ensures authentication and privacy, manages preferences, and enables
single sign-on. The DreamFace platform is open, allowing enterprises to link DreamFace profile management
functionalities with existing enterprise identity management systems, such as LDAP, to ensure compliance
with established corporate authentication and security policies.
Like consumer social networking platforms, DreamFace enables users to find and link with other users and to
define groups of users. Each user has a "Wall" that lists contacts' activities and other messages. DreamFace
also supports other powerful Web 2.0 activities, such as the tagging, rating, searching, and sharing of widgets
and applications.
Uniquely, DreamFace has abstracted the widget content allowing any kind of content to be
put inside. With this feature, users can define digital assets, such as documents, photos, videos, links and
even widgets or whole applications and group them into asset categories. A user can then subscribe to other users'
or groups' categories. This powerful feature allows groups of users to implicitly share information about how
they use the application, everyone becomes smarter by this rich exchange of information and collaboration becomes
second nature.
Integrated Mobile Services
DreamFace 2.0 provides a platform for live broadcasting or publishing to mobile devices,
providing faster access to critical or dynamically changing information. Users receiving these alerts can interact
with their DreamFace widgets and applications directly from their mobile devices. Users can also broadcast
information to select members or an entire group of users, from the Social Networking Framework. Targeted
customer support, marketing, branding campaigns, and contests with user voting are examples of ways that enterprises
can use DreamFace Mobile Services to implement new and innovate, increasing user satisfaction and
retention.
